La Fontanassa
Located in Rovereto di Gavi in the heart of the historic Gavi D.O.C.G area of the Municipality of Gavi, Fontanassa is an ancient farmhouse of which there has been certain information since the 16th century, when it belonged to the Albera family. Over the centuries, various noble families have succeeded to the property: the Lerma, the Gatti, the Baciocchi up to the Sertorio, who handed it over to Gemme family, still owners.
The first bottles of Gavi D.O.C.G. they were produced in 1988 by the brothers Marco and Roberto Gemme, with the collaboration of the oenologist Gaspare Buscemi.

Currently 43 hectares of land located in the Rovereto di Gavi area, the heart of Gavi, are cultivated with vineyards.

Our wines
Human hands are fundamental for a product that lives on effort, traditions and the history of Gavi, our territory.
We produce 4 labels of GAVI DOCG, a classic V.S.Q.P.R.D. method. GAVI DOCG from the Municipality of Gavi, a Charmat method sparkling wine, a Colli Tortonesi Timorasso D.O.C., a white wine from overripe grapes, two Monferrato DOC red wines, a rosé.

At Fontanassa we offer tastings of our wines with platters of cured meats produced on the farm and local cheeses combined with other delicacies, events that celebrate good wine and what the Gavi Territory offers us, such as the truffles from our truffle grounds, but also elegant and bold combinations.
For those who want to stop and rest and spend quality time, at the Fontanassa it is possible to book our Bed and Breakfast rooms or apartments with kitchen.
A NIGHT AMONG THE VINEYARDS
Our B&B and the rooms
The structure dates back to the 16th century and was born as a fortified farm. The apartments and rooms are located inside the courtyard and the experience of staying at the Fontanassa is reminiscent of living in a very small medieval village.
We have three apartments on two floors with kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms and three bedrooms connected to each other by a covered terrace overlooking the courtyard. The rooms overlook the vineyards and on clear days the view extends up to the mountains, offering breathtaking views and unique sunsets.
